Cloud9 | January Blog Hop

This month's Cloud9 | Wplus9 blog hop inspiration photo is simply stunning! I pulled out my Wplus9 stamps and created a fun, shimmery card last night.

I was drawn to the kraft/white/silver combo & the stars. I used Ranger Silver embossing powder on the frame and star die cuts, and I used white embossing powder on the sun burst image. 

(Supplies - Stamps: (Wplus9) Quite Like You, Super Star, Design Basics: Background 1. (PTI) Fillable Frames #10. Ink: VersaMark, (PTI) Fresh Snow, (Ranger) Archival Ink Jet Black. Cardstock: (PTI) Kraft, Stampers Select White. Embossing Powder: (Ranger) Silver. Dies: (Simon Says) Large Holiday Shapes, (PTI) Fillable Frames #10. Gems: Recollections. Twine: (PTI) Dark Chocolate.)

To create the silver edges on the card I pressed my VersaMark ink onto the edge of the white paper and dumped silver embossing powder on top, then heat set. It was pretty uneven, so I repeated the process a second time. The shine is pretty cool in real life!
