CAS(E) this Sketch | Challenge #93

When I saw this sketch for the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge, I immediately thought of Papertrey Ink's Be Happy stamp set. It has the perfect sized square stamp (and matching die), butterflies, and cute accent flowers.

I pulled out my Impress Fresh Ink (pigment) and my Avery Elle pigment ink for my card. I wanted my card to be bright and colorful, but maintain a clean and simple feel.

I used both border stamps from Be Happy and stamped them in AE's Lemongrass and Aquamarine. I stamped the flowers and frame in Impress Lemonade and Melon ink. I cut the butterfly from PTI's Limeade Ice polka dot paper and vellum, then layered them on the front of my card. I added a sentiment from Waltzingmouse and gems from KI Memories.

That's it for me tonight! Thanks for stopping by. :)

E & L's Color Challenge | Day 3

Hi there!

It's time for day 3 of our color challenge. Today I am featuring Waltzingmouse's Simple Sprig stamp set and this beautiful color combo:

I stamped the leaf image in both Hibiscus Burst and Winter Wisteria inks. I die cut leaves (Turning a New Leaf from Papertrey Ink) from vellum paper and adhered them to the front of my card, overlapping the stamped leaves.  I added a few buttons and enamel dots, and the title was die cut from Wonderful Words: Hello (also from Papertrey Ink).

Check back tomorrow for a new color challenge. Thanks for stopping by!

CAS(E) This Sketch | Challenge #48

**This is my second post today. You can see this month's Great Impressions Stamps challenge post here. **

This week's CAS(E) This Sketch challenge is one I've used before (here), and a great basic sketch that can be used in so many ways! For my card I pulled out a couple of Waltzingmouse stamp sets and combined them with PTI's Bigger Blooms set. The pearls are from Hero Arts.

(Supplies - Stamps: (Waltzingmouse) Simple Sprig and Big Day - Today. (Papertrey Ink) Bigger Blooms). Ink: (Memento Luxe) Pistachio. (Stampin' Up!) Harvest gold, Lavender Moon, Hibiscus Burst, Black. Cardstock: (Papertrey Ink) Spring Moss, Simply Chartreuse, White. Gems: Hero Arts.)

The Big Day - Today sentiments are quickly becoming favorites. I used the birthday greeting here and the For You greeting here. They are so elegant and classy!

That's it for me today! Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

ColourQ | Challenge #209

**This is my third post of the day. You can see my first post here, and my second post here.**

My final card is for this week's ColourQ challenge.

I used Waltzingmouse's Funky Feathers set for a CAS (mostly) one layer card:

(Supplies - Stamps: (Waltzingmouse) Funky Feathers. Ink: (PTI) Hawaiian Shores, Pure Poppy. (Stampin' Up!) Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight. Cardstock: (PTI) Hawaiian Shores, White. Enamel Dots: My Mind's Eye.)

That's it for me today! The kids are being really, really quiet, which means (as most parents know) they are up to something. I baked homemade chocolate chip cookies today, and if I had to guess, they are quickly and quietly being consumed. Time to find a good hiding spot. :)

10 Minute Craft Dash | Challenge #25

Hi guys!

Yesterday I had a chance to play along with this week's 10 Minute Craft Dash challenge. This challenge always stresses me out! But it's fun to create something in a short amount of time. I have had this great wood anchor in my stash for a couple of months and really wanted to use it on a card. I paired it with some paper from Glitz and a stamp from Waltzingmouse:

(Supplies - Stamps: (Waltzingmouse) Ocean Bound. Ink: (PTI) Dark Chocolate. Wood shape: Glitz. Patterned Paper: Glitz. Cardstock: (PTI) Harvest Gold, Aqua Mist. Die: (PTI) First Place. Enamel Dots: My Mind's Eye. Twine: (PTI) Dark Chocolate.)

Total Time: 9:35.7. I did it! Under 10 minutes. I really saved myself a lot of time by choosing a patterned paper that is colorful, has a lot of details, and didn't require me to do anything except trim it down and adhere.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! Evan has his first soccer game of the fall season tomorrow... he is very excited. Unfortunately the uniforms are not ready so he will be in his practice jersey, but we will make it work. :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Waltzingmouse | Sketch Challenge

Good morning! I hope everyone had a wonderful Labor Day weekend. Mark was home for a couple of days (yay!) and we spent a lot of time as a family. I love long weekends... there is nothing better than sleeping in on a Monday morning. :)

Today's card is for this week's Waltzingmouse's Sketch challenge. I pulled out WM's Two Step Floral Sprig and Big Day - Today stamp sets:

(Supplies- Stamps: (Waltzingmouse) Two Step Floral Sprig, Big Day - Today. Ink: Memento Luxe. Cardstock: (PTI) Cream, Harvest Gold, Spring Moss. (Stampin' Up!) Rich Razzleberry. Dies: (PTI) Limitless Layers Ovals. Cut Files: (Waltzingouse) Two Step Floral Sprig cut files. Other: Twine, Stickles, enamel dots.)

I ended up creating a horizontal card instead of a vertical card, but other than that, I didn't make too many alterations to the original sketch. The Floral Sprig set is so beautiful and I love adding all the layers to the beautiful flowers.

Have a great week!

CAS-ual Fridays | Challenge #112

Hi friends! I hope everyone had a restful weekend. I am feeling so much better after spending the last 48 hours on the couch, watching pre-season football and making sure Evan didn't take out my new framed anchor print with his Nerf football. I'm not sure my house is going to survive this kid... he is an accident waiting to happen. :)

I have a new card to share for this week's CAS-ual Fridays challenge: Aqua, Green, and Orange. I adore this color combo and was anxious to pull out a few new sets from Waltzingmouse for the challenge: Two Step Floral Sprig, Big Day - Today, and the Pinstripe mini background. And I used my Silhouette to cut out the leaves (available from Waltzingmouse), and I am delighted with the results. Very crisp and clean cuts, making the whole card come together quickly. I upgraded my Silhouette so I can cut SVG files and I am so glad I did. That little machine is awesome!

(Supplies - Stamps: (Waltzingmouse) Two Step Floral Sprig, Big Day - Today, and the Pinstripe mini background. Ink: (PTI) Aqua Mist, Limeade Ice, New Leaf, Orange Zest, Terracotta Tile, Harvest Gold, Summer Sunrise, Black. Cardstock: (PTI) Orange Zest, White. Other: pearls, stickles.)

The latest Waltzingmouse release was one of my favorites... so many beautiful sets! Flowers & nautical themed... two of my favorite things!

That is it for me tonight. Have a great week!

ColourQ Challenge #202 | Simon Says Stamp Challenge: Monochromatic

Hi there! I hope everyone had a great week. My free mornings are quickly becoming a favorite part of my day... especially when I can spend an hour or two working on projects in my office.

First up is a card for this week's ColourQ challenge:

I pulled out a new set from Wplus9, Fanciful Feathers, and stamped them diagonally onto white cardstock. I trimmed the gray and yellow cardstock into strips, stamped the sentiment, then adhered them to my card and trimmed the edges. The buttons, from Papertrey Ink, were adhered last.

(Supplies - Stamps: (Wplus9) Fanciful Feathers. Ink: (Stampin' Up!) Smokey Slate, Daffodil Delight, Ruby Red. (Memento) Black. Cardstock: (PTI) Pure Poppy. (Stampin' Up!) Daffodil Delight, Smokey Slate. Buttons: (PTI) True Black.)

Up next I have a card for this week's Wednesday Challenge for Simon Says Stamps: Monochromatic. I wanted to create something using the new Mat Stack die and matching stamp set (Scrolling Script), and Waltzingmouse's Simple Sprig set. This is what I came up with:

Aren't the leaves and flowers gorgeous? I used two sizes of Mat Stack #7 and a Papertrey Ink's Bells and Boughs stamp set and die, plus a few pearls to finish off the card. The ink is Memento Luxe in Sweet Plum, Lilac Posies, and Rose Bud.

(Supplies - Stamps: (PTI) Scrolling Script, Bells and Boughs. (Waltzingmouse) Simple Sprig. Ink: (Memento Luxe) Lilac Posies, Sweet Plum, and Rose Bud. Cardstock: (PTI) Lavender Moon, Royal Velvet, Plum Pudding, White. Patterned Paper: (PTI) Berry Sorbet patterns pack. Punch: Marvy Uchida. Dies: (PTI) Mat Stack #7, Bells and Boughs. Pearls: Hero Arts.)

I have one more card to share. I created this one last week for a ColourQ challenge but I didn't get it posted in time. The flowers are from Dawn McVey's Delightful Dahlia Additions set. It took some practice, but layering the flowers was easier than I expected and the results are beautiful! I used Spring Rain, Blueberry Sky, and Enchanted Evening for each flower.

(Supplies - Stamps: (PTI) Delightful Dahlia Additions. Ink: (PTI) Black, Spring Rain, Blueberry Sky, Enchanted Evening. Cardstock: (PTI) Blueberry Sky, Simply Chartreuse, Harvest Gold, White. Patterned Paper: (PTI) Spring Rain patterns pack. Dies: (PTI) Mat Stack #6, Ruby Rose (leaves). Felt: (PTI) Simply Chartreuse. Other: Buttons.)

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!

ColourQ | Challenge #183

Happy Wednesday, friends! I have a quick card to share for this week's ColourQ Challenge:

I pulled out Waltzingmouse's new Folk Art Medallion stamp set for this week's challenge. This set is so beautiful and the color combo worked perfectly with all the different floral/layering stamps. The background image is large & I was having issues getting a good impression with my Soft Suede ink pad, so I switched to my Hero Arts Cup 'o Joe Shadow Ink pad and I am pleased with the results. The flowers were stamped with Stampin' Up's Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral, and Blushing Bride.

That's it from me tonight. Thanks for stopping by!
