Lego Land, Florida

A few weeks ago we took a mini-vacation to Orlando and Lego Land with Mark's parents. The kids love amusement parks, and I had heard really good things about Florida's newest theme park. We had a wonderful time, and despite the heat, enjoyed our day at the park. Jack especially enjoyed going on rides. He just hit 36 inches (with shoes on), so he could go on a quite a few rides this trip... even some by himself! He looked so little compared to the bigger kids on the rides, but he loved it.

Jack wanted a blue Angry Bird painted on his face.

And Evan wanted a red bird... he really liked it, so I'm not sure why he is so serious!

I am still taking care of a very sick 6-year-old, so I better run. Poor kid cannot get over a nasty cold/flu. We are off to the doctor tomorrow to make sure he doesn't have something more serious (Mark mentioned bronchitis...).

Have a great week!

Sick Kids

The past three weeks have been a blur... one or both of the kids have been sick and our schedule has been really off. Evan's last day of Kindergarten is tomorrow and I am so upset he is (probably) going to miss it. He has worked so hard this year & I know he is going to miss his friends over the summer... but I can't send him to school with a fever of 102. I am hoping his fever breaks tonight and his cough is under control in the morning so he can go to school and see his friends one last time!

In between doctor's visits, naps, and wiping noses, we have had a little bit of fun. Our last Kiwi Crate box's theme was gardening, and the boys planted a window garden of squash and beans. Last weekend Jack helped me transplant them outside. Jack checks on his plants everyday, and loves to help me water them. He and I spent an hour or two on the patio yesterday while Evan napped, and he was acting goofy so I pulled out the camera. I love his bed head & cheesy smile. :-)

Have a great weekend!

Simon Says Stamp May KOTM

Happy Friday! I hope everyone has had a great week. Jack is still recovering from being sick (and he now has a cold), but we have had a really nice week. Evan's Kindergarten Graduation was this morning, and Mark and I were both able to attend. He has grown so much this year & it was great to see his classmates one last time. I can't believe he only has a week left of school! Where did the time go? We are all going to miss his teacher, Mrs. Lintner, very much. She has been a wonderful instructor and friend to Ev. Some people have a natural gift in teaching, and she is one of those people.

A couple of months ago I signed up for Simon Says Stamp KOTM program after seeing some amazing cards by Jennifer McGuire. I had the pleasure of taking a class from her when we lived in Cincinnati, and she is a fantastic cardmaker. I love her style and the techniques she comes up with are truly amazing. I love getting my KOTM box every month... each one is unique and most of the stamps are exclusive to SSS. The May kit was a bit of a stretch for me... don't usually use red, pink, and blue/green together, but I ended loving every card I made. Papertrey Ink's Melon Berry and Pure Poppy ink are a perfect match for the pink and red in the kit. Most of the products I used are from the kit, except for a couple of PTI stamp sets.

(My favorite card... I love the banner and Doodlebug buttons. "Happy Birthday" by Papertrey Ink.)

I am going to enjoy our last "school weekend" before Evan's last week of Kindergarten... then summer vacation! Lazy days, trips to the pool, summer camp, swim lessons, art projects... I can't wait.

Instagram Photos

My poor blog has been severely neglected the past two weeks, mostly due to some technical difficulties at the Taylor house. One of the hard drives in our server stopped working, so Mark shut down the other drive so we wouldn't lose data (which means I had no access to my photos or digital products for almost 2 weeks). Mark has worked tirelessly the past few days to get me back up and running, and we are almost there.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day yesterday. I was very spoiled by my boys this year: Mark made me breakfast in bed, and he and the kids made me stepping stones for the front garden. Each stepping stone has a handprint and the date.... they are darling!

And because no post is complete without a few photos, I had some Instagram pictures to share. I love Instagram. :-)

** I have no idea what is going on with the formatting of these photos... while creating the post they are lined up perfectly, but when I publish the post, the photos aren't lined up. I will do some research and try to fix the photos.

Have a great week!
